In general....
In order to begin your search we will need to collect certain information from you. Any information such as complete addresses, phone
numbers, social security numbers, full date's of birth, and full names (unless necessary) will not be shown on this website in order to protect
the privacy of those we help and to prevent fraudulent cases. Your information will be held in the utmost confidence.

If there is specific information you do not want posted, please note in the information that you send what you specifically do not want
posted. Anything that is submitted to this site is SCREENED FIRST  to avoid anything of an abusive nature or any information that may
violate confidentiality issues.

If you are ever contacted and asked for more information, please verify that you are responding to a valid e-mail address. *The only e-mails
sent from us will be from j.williams@amerasianfamilyfinder.org

Also, your first correspondence from us will also include your original submission form, so please make sure you see this
before responding with personal information. Remember this is a FREE website. If you are ever asked to send money or gifts, DO NOT
and report them to us
For Amerasians who wish to search for their biological father/American family, please note:

  1. Cases where the father's name is not known, will not be accepted.  Unfortunately, due to limited resources and funding we
    cannot do such searches at this time. However, if you have a picture of the individual, we will post your case with the father's name
    listed as "UNKNOWN"  and the picture will be placed with the information you provide.


2. This site cannot file any US citizenship claims. We may provide information as to where you can go within your country to file for this
paperwork, but we do not assist in filling these out,  nor do we give legal advice on how to obtain citizenship.

3.  We do not involve ourselves in matters of child support. In most cases, if the child is over 18  years of age, no claim to child
support can be made.

4. Once your father/family has been located, it is up to you to initiate contact. This is a very important step. We will provide you with
the address, phone number, and if available an e-mail address, but it is your responsibility to contact this person, not A.F.F.

5. Please understand that finding your birth parent will not always be a "happy ending" We cannot promise to find these
people, but when and if we do, please do not expect that it will always be a great reunion.

American father's searching for their Amerasian child....

1. Because A.F.F. is based in the USA and  mainly dedicated to finding American fathers/family in the USA, we are limited in our searches
in other countries. However, we do have some contacts in the Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand that may be able to assist us. Your case
will be posted to A.F.F., but for the most part, these cases are posted and must await for a potential response from the child or family of the
child, as A.F.F. lacks resources to go search in other countries. A.F.F. finds that at least having the information out there to be seen "just in
case" is better than nothing at all.

2. To prevent fraud, we will not post all of the details in your case. While many claims are legitimate, there are those out there who
will try to use your information to gain your trust in hopes of acquiring funds or citizenship.  A.F.F. tries to prevent such things from
happening, by verifying an individuals information, prior to putting you in contact with the person. We may ask you for certain information
that only the child would know or have the individual send documents to A.F.F. that would verify their information.

3. Do not post to this site if you are looking for a lost love. Due to the seriousness of this issue, we ask you not submit forms looking
for lost loves. We do not have resources to do such searches, nor is it in our interest.

4. If your child is located, we will provide you with the information as to how you can contact them, and it will be up to you to initiate contact.

5. A.F.F. does not involve itself in child custody or child support issues. Those are issues to be handled by legal representatives,
not A.F.F.
